چکیده

Although the immobilization of oligonucleotides (nucleic acid) on mineral surfaces is at basis different biotechnological applications, an atomistic understanding interaction nucleic acid components with titanium dioxide has not yet been achieved. Here, adsorption phosphate anion, four DNA bases (adenine, guanine, thymine, and cytosine) some entire nucleotides dinucleotides TiO2 anatase (1 0 1) surface studied through dispersion-corrected hybrid density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Several configurations are identified for separated entities (phosphate anion or base) then considered when studying nucleotides. The analysis shows that both each base may anchor to in a collaborative synergistic mode. tendency containing guanine present strongest while those made up thymine have lowest energies. Nucleotides based adenine cytosine similar intermediate behavior. Finally, we investigated competing water molecules understand whether presence aqueous solvent, would remain bonded desorb.

PVC-Based Cerium Phosphate Membrane Exhibiting Selectivity for Molybdate Anions

A PVC-based membrane containing cerium phosphate was developed. Unlike the cerium phosphate itself that acts as a cation exchanger, the membrane exhibited anion-exchange properties. Therefore, the utility of this compound as a sensory element for detection of molybdate ions was pursued. The response of molybdate selective electrode based on this membrane was perfectly linear in the concentr...

Surface-Induced Anisotropic Binding of a Rhenium CO2‐Reduction Catalyst on Rutile TiO2(110) Surfaces

Vibrational sum frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy has been utilized to study the spatial orientation and alignment of Re(CO)3Cl(dcbpy) (dcbpy = 4,4′-dicarboxy2,2′-bipyridine) (or ReC0A) on the (001) and (110) surfaces of rutile single-crystalline TiO2. The SFG intensity of the CO stretching modes shows an isotropic distribution on the (001) surface and an anisotropic distribution on the (...

Functionalization of surfaces with synthetic oligonucleotides.

There is a large interest in the use of nucleic acids covalently bound to surfaces for a variety of biomedical uses: biosensors, microarrays, drug delivery, lab-on-chip devices, and gene therapy, etc. Most of these applications require the covalent attachment of oligonucleotides via specific reactive groups on both modified oligonucleotide and/or surface. The purpose of this chapter is to provi...
